Hey there, I am actually listening to my i-pod. I do not normally include music in this way, however this was going to be the longest hottest walk I had ever attempted, and it was the first time I walked infront of a crowd. It is very very importat to stay positive and focused while walking, so I thought the best way to block out the audiance and everything going on around me would be to center my focuse inside, and music has always been a powerfull tool for me. The walk went great!!! I have been invited to participate in a 250 foot firewalk here in Grande Prairie this summer, so I will be poping on the music once again. :) Amanda AKA Butterfly
I am working on blogging it all soon, until then the best thing to do is check out my website www.butterflybreakthroughs.com There is a running video of my record breaking firewalk last summer as well as all the information about our classes and what it is we do.
Well I am actually listening to the sound track to the movie, Last of the Mohiccans, I just love this kind of music, very pump you up and there are no words, just music.
Amanada I’m interested in learning more about the G.P. walk this summer. I’ve never walked but have stirred red hot logs and embers with the hands while tending a fire at a teen camp a few years back for a couple of weeks. GP is not that far from where I live presently
The first timeI firewalked was with Tony Robbins in Manhattan. It was actualy a pretty big downer, because, at that time, I did not experience Tony's work as having a lot of “heart” to it.
The 2nd two times were with a guy in Santa Cruz. It was much more of a life-affirming, community oriented, laughter-filled, event.
As it turns out, as explained in the book “Fads and Fallacies,” firewalking isn't the miracle it seems to be. There's a simple physics explanation: the difference between temperature and heat. So, if you are baking a pan of lasagna, you can put your hands in the oven at 400 degrees and not touch anything, and they'll be fine for several seconds. But if you touch the pan or the shelf on which it rests, you'll get burned right away. Well, the “duff” or fine layer of ash on top of the hot coals is at, let's say, 1000 degrees Farenheit, it just doesn't contain a lot of heat (a high concentration of molecules moving very fast). So if you walk quickly, you won't get burnt, because there's just not that much heat, despite the 1000 degree temperature.
Of course, with respect to traditional firewalking in Greece, Indonesia, and other places, where the participants seem to roll in the coals, pick them up, etc., maybe something very different is going on.
And even knowing the physics explanation, when it's *your* turn to walk across the coals, it still takes a whole lot of courage to go forward.
Probably more information than you wanted, but there it is.
Thank you for sharing Jordan. I have discovered that our higher self creates our physical reality(which actually on a quantum level has been proved to be not real at all). I personally have turned red hot heavy 4” to 10” logs at campfires with bare hands touching red hot coals on the logs for a six hour period each day for weeks to keep the flames high.
If everything that we are, do and think is the byproduct of how we perceive information(our reality bias) then that implies that by adequately re-ordering our perceptions we can effect the outcome of everything in our lives. People have had complex surgery without anesthetic and others can not have there teeth cleaned without freezing. Quantum physics tells us that matter is no more than a “state of information” which will in fact have no properties at all apart from what we do with it. I have seen healed fractured bent legs straighen. A person previously hear normal speech only when wearing the highest powered hearing aid with the speaker next to them. Then within minutes able to hear the same speaker at the same volume at a gradual increase of distance from the subject without hearing aids at a distance of 75 feet. Suggest all look at Matrix Energetics http://www.matrixenergetics.com/default.aspx if there is desire to observe and experience through a shift of perception differently. Love and Light David
Don't get me wrong. Miracles –if we can call them that– happen fairly frequently, and if the way you have of best describing and transmitting that information to others is through the quantum information metaphor, then I'm all for it.
I'm just saying above that, probably, most firewalks aren't miraculous per se, and some definitely seem that they are. In either case, walking over the coals takes guts – or a personal wilingngess to suspend disbelief – especially when you're new at it.
I agree entirely with you Jordanfor what you or the individual pervices to be real. There is no way for a weak 90 pound woman to lift a 4000lb car off a child right? Yet it has occured many times ewithout a pulled shoulder or aching muscle on the lady. We create our own limits in experiencing life and thats great. When a soul is ready or desires to shift it can happen instantly also. I see perception as the observable fact which constantly changes. It has already been proven many times for example by Sanchez. A peculiar example can be found in the dermal optical phenomena where any child is capable of been trained to read with his hands or feet and I am not talking brail here. 99.9 percent say this is not possible but any child can learn, simply passing the hand or foot over text with the head and eyes looking 180 degrees the other way. Yes many can observe and do firewalking as you have described under proper conditions in that is the perception of the one doing it. If there is a change of that perception allowed by the individual he or shee could walk through a blast furnace without burns or not depending on the perception of the individual. “Hmmm.. I seem to have a burning sensation on my feet..” ;) Mind over matter, eh?
Incredible - what commitment that must have taken. Blog it - I want to know more!
Are you listening to a Walkman?

if i may ask, what were you listening to?
lol yeah, i am curious of that too. I’d probably listen to some black eyed peas.

I've firewalked 3 times myself; see http://enlightenmentdotcom.zaadz.com/photos/view/12520#comments.
